The Glass You Need

As a professional photographer, one of the most important tools in my arsenal is my camera lens. The right lens can make all the difference when it comes to creating stunning, high-quality images. As a photographer who use a Canon 90D, I have a deep understanding of the various lenses available and how to use them to their fullest potential.

First, it's important to understand the different types of lenses available. The most common types of lenses are standard lenses, telephoto lenses, wide-angle lenses, and zoom lenses.

Standard lenses, also known as normal lenses, have a focal length of around 50mm. They are great for everyday photography and are often used for portraits, street photography, and landscapes.

Telephoto lenses, on the other hand, have a longer focal length and are great for capturing subjects that are farther away. They are often used for sports, wildlife, and nature photography.

Wide-angle lenses have a shorter focal length and are great for capturing expansive landscapes and architecture. They are also useful for group photos and indoor photography where space is limited.

Zoom lenses offer a range of focal lengths and are great for versatility. They allow the photographer to easily switch between wide-angle and telephoto shots without having to change lenses.

In addition to understanding the different types of lenses, it's also important to understand the aperture of a lens. The aperture, measured in f-stops, controls the amount of light that enters the camera. Larger apertures, such as f/1.4 or f/2.8, allow more light to enter the camera and create a shallow depth of field. This is great for portraits and other shots where you want to create a bokeh effect. Smaller apertures, such as f/11 or f/16, allow less light to enter the camera and create a deeper depth of field. This is great for landscapes and other shots where you want to keep everything in focus.
